Basin BuRNout

We are honored to partner with two amazing veteran charities for 2022. Boot Campaign and Reel Thanx will be the dual beneficiaries of the proceeds raised from this two-day event.

We want to make 2022 the best year yet and we cannot do that without your help! These two events give back to those that have given so much. Honor our veterans and become a supporter and secure your sponsorship or cooking spot!

Boot Campaign

Boot Campaign began when average Americans chose to outwardly express their gratitude for active duty service members, veterans, and their families by lacing up one of the most visible signs of military service: combat boots. Their decade-long efforts have only been made possible by patriots from coast to coast who heard our mission, believed in it, and took the next step to help us spread it amongst their friends, families, and colleagues.

Boot Campaign’s mission is to unite Americans to honor and restore the lives of veterans and military families through individualized, life-improving programs. #LaceUpAMERICA

Boot Campaign is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and was selected as one of 26 national veteran and military service nonprofits that meet the 20 stringent standards. They continue a years-long Platinum rating from GuideStar, have been named one of the nation’s Great Nonprofits, and received a 100% rating from Charity Navigator. On average, their ratio of dollars raised to dollars given back directly to military families is 87 cents on the dollar.

Reel Thanx

Reel Thanx is dedicated to the men and women of our armed forces. It began as a desire to show our support and thanks to these brave young men and women.

Reel Thanx was founded in 2007 when founder Mike Mundy was inspired to take a soldier fishing after reading a similar ad on texasfishingforum.com. Mike contacted his friend Terry Johnson, founder of “Show of Support Military Hunt” in West Texas, for help in lining Mike up with a soldier who could use a fishing getaway. One soldier quickly turned into five; four were from Special Forces and one from the 82nd airborne and all had been wounded, some of them horribly. Many friends joined in with Mike in taking this first group of guys down to Lake Amistad in Del Rio, TX, and with the help of generous donors, they were able to host the soldiers for a three-day weekend trip.
